The ceiling in the adjoining‘Ballroom Mesdag’ has the curve of aship’s hull, and due to the different coloured lighting that is hidden behind,Mesdag’s impressive clouds adorning the ceiling become even more expressive. Thevisibility of air transportation is eliminated through the use of trenches.Mesdag is also the inspiration for the floor: the carpet design consists ofcomputer-enlarged clouds of which the pixel-pattern is woven in wool.
